Background of the Season 4 Broadcast Decision
'KAN・KAN・KAN!' is designed for absolute beginners who struggle with common challenges such as 'not having enough time' or 'finding it too difficult to continue.' The program introduces practical phrases through one-minute short dramas, with Seungjoon, a Korean instructor and Kyoto University graduate, providing clear explanations of meanings and pronunciation in the studio.
Over the past three seasons, the program has covered themes relevant to everyday life, such as self-introductions, fan activities (oshi-katsu), travel, and expressions of consideration. Due to the positive feedback, Season 4 has now been confirmed. The program is structured to be enjoyable and sustainable even for those who are learning for the first time or have previously given up.
Season 4 Theme: 'More Practical Everyday Expressions'
Season 4 focuses on learning phrases that are immediately useful in real-life situations, including daily conversations, travel, events, and fan activities. Episode 37 (aired July 1) introduced Korean phrases for naturally responding to invitations to parties or events, such as 'I'll join,' 'I'll do it,' or 'I won't do it,' under the theme 'Joining super easily!'
Episode 37 is also available on YouTube.
The program incorporates 'shadowing,' where viewers repeat after the instructor, rather than just listening passively. By practicing aloud, even beginners can efficiently develop pronunciation that is both understandable and comprehensible.
Pronunciation-Focused Learning for Absolute Beginners in Just 5 Minutes a Day
The program emphasizes pronunciation, taking into account common stumbling blocks for Japanese learners. Viewers can naturally experience the rhythm and intonation of Korean by repeating the lines from the short dramas.
Key features include:
- Learn Korean easily in just 5 minutes per session
- Experience daily conversations through approximately 1-minute short dramas
- Accessible even to absolute beginners, without relying on complex grammar
- Learn by mimicking instructor Seungjoon's pronunciation
- Review repeatedly on YouTube after broadcast
- Learn expressions useful for travel to Korea, fan activities, and daily conversations
