The 'Ocean City Yokohama Umi-Haku 2026,' organized by the Ocean City Yokohama Umi Council and planned/operated by Actindi Inc., which runs the child-friendly outing site 'Iko-yo,' has been officially confirmed. Starting in 2016, this event allows children to experience the charm of Yokohama's sea through various perspectives such as ships, the environment, and careers. Last year, it welcomed a record-breaking 23,500 visitors. In 2026, in addition to the Yokohama City Hall Atrium and Osanbashi Pier area, the 'Nippon Maru Memorial Park,' home to the famous sailing ship 'Nippon Maru,' will be used as a venue for the first time. Furthermore, new hands-on content such as sea kayaking and underwater drone operation will be introduced. This year, the event will also focus on the shipbuilding and shipping sectors that support Japan's logistics, with industry leaders like Japan Marine United (JMU), Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Furuno Electric participating for the first time.
