Aderans Co., Ltd., a global leader in hair, beauty, health, and medical wellness, is conducting its 'Fontaine Green Forest Campaign' from June 1 (Mon) to August 31 (Mon) at Fontaine shops nationwide. This initiative aims to recycle unused wigs and contribute to environmental conservation.
During the campaign, customers who bring in unused wigs (including those from other brands) to Fontaine stores will receive a 'Green Coupon' for each item. This coupon provides a discount on the purchase of a new Fontaine wig. Furthermore, a portion of the proceeds from each purchase is donated through Tsubaru no Mori LLC to support reforestation efforts at Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park.
Launched in 2009 with the goal of contributing to the global environment through wig recycling, the campaign is now in its 18th year. Over 100,000 wigs have been collected to date. All collected wigs are incinerated at partner waste treatment facilities and repurposed as backfill or roadbed materials.
Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park is cherished for its red pine forest landscape and is designated by the Ministry of the Environment as an important area for biodiversity conservation. However, following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, pine weevil damage surged, leading to a decline in the red pine forest. In response, Aderans began supporting the 'Red Pine Forest Restoration Project' and received the '2024 Shizuoka Future Forest Supporter Governor's Award' from Shizuoka Prefecture.
