Gary Yang (Gary Yang) will transition from his role as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Account Management & Partnerships to succeed the retiring Warren Hayashi (Warren Hayashi), focusing on strengthening merchant relationships and driving platform adoption across the Asia Pacific region.

Gary Yang Appointed New President for Asia Pacific

Adyen, a leading fintech platform trusted by major global enterprises, today announced the appointment of Gary Yang as its new President for the Asia Pacific region, effective August 1, 2026. Yang will be based in Singapore and will succeed Warren Hayashi, who is retiring at the end of 2026, taking full responsibility for regional business growth and operations.

This leadership transition reflects Adyen’s ongoing strategy of deploying experienced global leaders and sharing deep expertise across the organization to meet evolving customer needs. Yang joined Adyen in 2018 and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Account Management & Partnerships, where he led merchant success and partner ecosystem expansion on a global scale.

Yang brings extensive leadership experience from high-growth tech companies, including serving as Vice President of Operations at Peek and General Manager in the early days of viagogo. His diverse background also includes strategic consulting at BCG (Boston Consulting Group), product management at Microsoft, software engineering at Booz Allen Hamilton, and venture capital at GGV Capital. He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) and a double degree in Computer Engineering and Finance from the University of Maryland.

Gary Yang, incoming President for Asia Pacific at Adyen, said: "As we approach a new era of AI-driven commerce, the Asia Pacific region stands at a pivotal moment of transformation. Major markets like India and Japan are undergoing large-scale fintech revolutions, while more mature markets such as Singapore and Australia are seeing rising demand for innovation. As the regional leader, I aim to build upon the strong foundation established by Warren and his team. Adyen has unique strengths in helping businesses scale through transformation, and we will continue to work closely with our clients to help them achieve their business goals faster."

Adyen’s team operates across nine locations in the Asia Pacific region—Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai, Hong Kong SAR, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Auckland—and partners with major enterprises such as Agoda, Amazon Japan, Cathay Pacific Airways, Hungry Jack’s, Klook, Mandai Wildlife Group, MECCA, OYO, Raffles Hotel, ROLLER, Singapore Airlines, Xiaomi, Temu, and UNIQLO.

Warren Hayashi, outgoing President for Asia Pacific at Adyen, said: "Leading Adyen’s APAC team has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I am proud of the strong business foundation we’ve built together. It’s a great comfort to hand over the leadership to someone with Gary’s exceptional qualities and proven track record. I will work closely with him over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition. Gary has deep understanding of our global business, broad technical knowledge, and extensive experience. He is the ideal leader to accelerate our growth momentum and take our APAC operations to the next level."

Roelant Prins (Roeland Prins), Chief Commercial Officer at Adyen, said: "Placing our most experienced global talent into key regional leadership roles is central to our growth strategy. This enables us to stay closely aligned with evolving local merchant needs while sharing the organization’s deep expertise across markets. We are deeply grateful for Warren’s outstanding leadership and dedication in building Adyen’s strong regional presence in Asia Pacific. We are also thrilled to welcome Gary to our Singapore hub. His proven success in driving Adyen’s business growth will be instrumental as we accelerate expansion across the Asia Pacific region."
