AEON Retail will open 'AEON Style Shimonotsuka' (hereinafter, the store) in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture on Tuesday, July 28. Centered on the concept of 'bringing the energy of the market to your daily dining table,' the store will enhance its fresh food and prepared food offerings with a lively, large-scale counter-style fresh seafood section and vegetables delivered directly from markets.

Additionally, thanks to its compact size and convenient access, the store will complement the nearby large-scale 'AEON Yamato-Tsukima Store,' enabling customers to choose based on their needs and supporting residents' lifestyles across the entire area.

The store is located approximately a 10-minute walk from 'Tsukima Station' on the Odakyu Electric Railway Enoshima Line. The surrounding area offers excellent access to central Tokyo and Yokohama, making it convenient for commuting and schooling. With abundant commercial facilities, parks, and educational institutions, it is increasingly popular among families with children. Additionally, within a 1-kilometer radius of the store, single-person households account for 40% of the population, making it a high-concentration area.

In this context, the store will serve as a convenient, neighborhood-focused supermarket offering food and daily necessities. Despite its compact size, it will provide a rich shopping experience by incorporating a large, market-like counter-style fresh seafood section, market-direct produce, and in-store prepared foods. The store aims to earn customer support through quality, deliciousness, and the joy of choosing.

Proposing 'deliciousness' and 'value for money': Enhancing in-store made prepared foods

Approximately 50 varieties offered in an individually sold prepared food section

The store will offer around 50 varieties, including yakitori skewers, tempura, snacks, and fried foods. Customers can select their preferred items one by one. Yakitori is slowly grilled in-store using domestically produced chicken, resulting in a fragrant exterior and a fluffy, juicy interior. Popular items such as negima, thigh, bonjiri, and seasonal limited menus will be abundantly available. In addition to tempura of sweet potato, pumpkin, eggplant, shrimp, and chikuwa, items such as cream croquettes, corn dogs, and frankfurters will also be sold individually.

A wide variety of freshly baked bread made in-store

The store will offer freshly baked bread daily. A wide selection will be available, including the signature 'Ham & Cheese Croissant' made with croissants, roll bread, prepared food bread, and donuts.

The store will introduce a self-service AI weighing machine※. Customers place their desired bread on a paper tray, and an AI-equipped camera automatically identifies the product type and price, issuing a label. Customers then place the bread in a provided plastic bag, attach the label, and pay at the food checkout.

※First introduction in Kanagawa Prefecture. The second store nationwide after AEON Style Tsudanuma South.

Offering bento boxes featuring 'grilling' to significantly enhance juiciness and aroma

The store will offer bento boxes grilled with a burner at the final stage of production. Grilling melts the fat, creating a fragrant flavor, such as in 'Char Siu Rice Bowl' and 'Unagi Tamago Rice Bowl' featuring eel and tamagoyaki.

<Environmental and Social Contribution Initiatives>

The 'AEON Happy Yellow Receipt Campaign' is an initiative to support local volunteer groups together with customers.
