Scenes from last year's event at AEON CINEMA Makuhari Shintoshin. Rara-chan will appear to cheer us on again!

AEON ENTERTAINMENT Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Nobuyuki Fujiwara) and AEON Fantasy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Mihama-ku, Chiba City; President: Tokuya Fujiwara) will hold "Attaka Time in AEON CINEMA," a movie screening event for children with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families, on August 18, 2026 (Tue) at AEON CINEMA Dainichi and AEON CINEMA Makuhari Shintoshin, and on August 25, 2026 (Tue) at AEON CINEMA Fukuoka.

The film to be screened is the latest installment in the Disney & Pixar masterpiece "Toy Story" series, "Toy Story 5," which depicts the irreplaceable bond between people and toys in a world of toys. It is released nationwide today.

This screening event was first held in July 2025 at AEON CINEMA Makuhari Shintoshin, with approximately 70 families participating. The second event was held in December of the same year at AEON CINEMA Itabashi, and it continues to be an ongoing initiative. At the venue, the lighting is set to be brighter than usual, and the volume is lowered to create an environment where children with sensory sensitivities or anxiety about dark places can feel at ease.

What is "Attaka Time in AEON CINEMA"?

This is a special screening event where all participants show consideration for each other and interact with warmth, allowing attendees to enjoy the movie with peace of mind, accommodating characteristics such as "making loud noises" or "standing up" during the screening.

This project was launched out of the desire of both companies to allow people who might hesitate to go to the cinema to enjoy movies without concern. "Attaka Time" was originally implemented at AEON Fantasy's playground facilities as a "time of consideration" for children with unique characteristics or disabilities who might find it difficult to play freely without worrying about others, allowing them and their families to play with peace of mind.

To allow more people to enjoy this "Attaka Time," both companies are cooperating to bring this experience to movie theaters as "Attaka Time in AEON CINEMA."

AEON ENTERTAINMENT and AEON Fantasy will continue to work towards the realization of an inclusive society where "fun" can be shared by everyone, regardless of disability.
