Aeon Entertainment Launches Film Distribution Business in Indonesia with New Subsidiary PT. AEON ENTERTAINMENT INDONESIA

Aeon Entertainment Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nobuyuki Fujiwara), which operates 99 'AEON CINEMA' theaters nationwide, has established a local subsidiary, PT. AEON ENTERTAINMENT INDONESIA, in Central Jakarta, Indonesia, as its second overseas expansion base following Vietnam. The company will begin film distribution operations in July 2026.

Indonesia's film market is expanding rapidly, and there is growing interest in Japanese anime and tokusatsu (special effects) productions. In response to this rising demand, Aeon Entertainment will focus on distributing Japanese content as the core of its business strategy.

The first film to be distributed is 'Agito: The Psychic War,' a commemorative title celebrating the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider. The film is scheduled for release on August 26, 2026 (Wednesday), across approximately 100 theaters nationwide, including CinemaXXI, Indonesia's largest cinema chain.

Going forward, the company will expand its distribution of Japanese content, including not only films but also TV series, to deliver Japanese entertainment to local audiences. In the future, it aims to invest in and distribute Indonesian films and extend its business into broader entertainment sectors beyond cinema.
