Details
1. Background and Objectives
Under its group philosophy of "Creating and delivering vibrant lives to all people," the Alfresa Group, in its "Alfresa Group Medium- to Long-Term Vision"*1 up to fiscal year 2032, has set "extending healthy life expectancy," "contributing to regional healthcare," and "healthcare innovation" as its three themes for creating social value.
Meisho, a general trading company dealing in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, reagents, and raw chemical materials, operates under the philosophy of "contributing to the health and happiness of people in the region through its business." It promotes contributions to regional healthcare in the Hokuriku region by ensuring a stable supply of pharmaceuticals, providing information on infectious disease control and disease prevention, and establishing a system for stockpiling and supply in preparation for disasters, while valuing harmony, connection, and communication. In Fukui Prefecture, Meisho operates with a focus on the local community through its Fukui and Tsuruga branches.
Fukui City has formulated the "3rd Fukui City Health Promotion Plan: Kenko Fukufuku Plan 21"*2, with the basic philosophy of "A city 'Fukui' where all citizens are healthy and happy in mind and body throughout their lives." The plan promotes "promotion and establishment of healthy lifestyle habits," "prevention of onset and progression of lifestyle-related diseases," "development of an environment that naturally leads to health," and "health promotion based on a life-course approach." Furthermore, based on the "Fukui City Disaster Prevention Plan"*3, the city is advancing initiatives aimed at protecting the lives, bodies, and property of its citizens, mitigating damage from natural disasters such as typhoons and floods, and maintaining social order and public welfare.
Through this comprehensive partnership agreement, Meisho and Fukui City will collaborate on stockpiling and supplying pharmaceuticals and sanitary products in the event of a disaster, health promotion and disease prevention, infectious disease control, and dementia prevention. Through these activities, we will contribute to the realization of safe and secure lives for the residents of Fukui City.
