ALL DIFFERENT, Inc., which supports organizational development and human resource training for over 4.7 million employees at 20,000 companies, along with the Learning Innovation Research Institute, conducted an awareness survey of 3,849 new employees entering the workforce in fiscal year 2026 between March 24 and May 6, 2026.
This generation has grown up in an environment where 'the norm is overturned' due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rapid spread of AI, and reduced face-to-face communication, forming realistic values based on an uncertain future.
Key survey findings include: - 'Anxiety' is the top emotion after the entrance ceremony (approx. 30%), and 'tension' is at a 4-year high. - The top concern is 'keeping up with the work (difficulty level),' exceeding 60% (4th consecutive year). - While 'work that is fun and rewarding' is the #1 choice for 'work I want to do,' the desire for 'my own growth' has fallen to an all-time low. - The #1 goal to achieve through work is 'to live a stable life' at 63.7%, a record high level. - Regarding working hours, 'I want to go home on time' is #1, though it is showing a downward trend. - The tendency to prioritize private life has reached a record high of 19.1%.
These results strongly suggest a trend among new graduates who prioritize stability and psychological comfort over growth motivation.
