[Jinsekikogen Town] Turning Daily Life into Entertainment! "Grass Cutting Grand Prix" Pre-event Held

On May 1, 2026, sabii, a DAO manager for Jinsekikogen Town, Hiroshima, organized by the "Regional Revitalization Cooperation DAO" managed by Alyawmu Inc., held a pre-event for the "Grass Cutting Grand Prix" at the town's Maki Fureai Center. This experimental event was born from the perspective that routine local activities could be a fresh experience for people from urban areas. In Jinsekikogen Town, a unique Grand Prix was born. The organizer, sabii, who is active as a DAO manager in the town, was fascinated by the unique immersion and sense of achievement of grass cutting. Due to aging and population decline, grass cutting is becoming a burden for maintenance in the region. However, from a different perspective, this routine activity can be a valuable experience for urban residents to forget their daily lives and become one with nature. Six participants gathered for this pre-event, challenging themselves with hand sickles in their own styles. Despite the light rain, the participants' enthusiasm was overwhelming, showcasing their unique grass-cutting styles. As a result of a strict judging process, three people—Sasori-chan, hiii, and Teraba-san—were crowned the first (pre) champions. The winners were presented with a giant bamboo shoot trophy. After the grass cutting, participants enjoyed the blessings of the satoyama and warm interaction with local residents, including bread from the local bakery "Harapan" and rice provided by the head judge, Taku-chan. Sabii expressed a desire to grow the Grass Cutting Grand Prix into a continuous place for interaction, showing enthusiasm for future relationship-building.
