Amazon Japan, in collaboration with San-A Co., Ltd., a prominent Okinawan supermarket operator, officially opened the 'San-A Net Super' on Amazon.co.jp today, May 19. This marks Amazon's first foray into fresh grocery online sales and delivery within Okinawa Prefecture, initially serving Naha City and select areas of the central and southern main island.

Customers with Amazon.co.jp accounts in the target areas can now browse and purchase thousands of items typically found in San-A stores, including fresh produce, meat, rice, frozen foods, and private-label products. There is no minimum order threshold, allowing for flexible shopping for any number of items.

Upon receiving an order, specialized staff at San-A locations pick the items, which are then delivered via Amazon's logistics network. Customers can choose from two-hour delivery windows (12:00–14:00 or 16:00–18:00) for same-day, next-day, or the day after next. For an additional fee of 300 yen (reduced to 290 yen for orders over 8,000 yen), customers can also specify delivery in one-hour increments for greater convenience.

Minyoung Shin, Director of Partnered Online Grocery for Amazon APAC, expressed excitement about bringing 2-hour grocery delivery to residents in Naha and Uruma. Tamotsu Goya, Managing Director of San-A, emphasized their commitment to enhancing regional lifestyles by providing timely delivery of quality goods from bases at Naha Main Place and Gushikawa Main City.

To celebrate the launch, an 'Open Sale' is running through June 5, offering up to 30% off on bulk beverages, frozen foods, and popular San-A original hamburger steaks. Additionally, first-time buyers spending over 4,000 yen can receive free delivery, and a 30% off coupon campaign for orders over 3,000 yen is available multiple times until June 30.
