A 1000-year-old tradition of 'sharing happiness' comes to Koshi City. Why we decided to host a 'Mochimaki' event now.

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, TOKUKEN, a brand specializing in large-scale timber architecture by Anesis Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagamineminami, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City; Representative Director: Tatsuya Kato), held a Mochimaki (rice cake scattering) event for local residents at the construction site of the Miyoshi Yoshida Clinic and an adjacent pharmacy (Kizuna Group, Lieb Co., Ltd.) in Miyoshi, Koshi City.

We believe in building the 'process' of construction together with our clients and giving shape to their vision. Because TOKUKEN specializes in large-scale timber construction, we wanted local residents to feel a sense of familiarity with the building even before it was completed. This prompted us to propose the traditional 'Mochimaki' event to our client, which brought this occasion to life.

Despite weather concerns, the day was blessed with early summer sunshine and a pleasant breeze. Local residents gathered before the 10 AM opening, and the event was a major success, attended by approximately 300 people ranging from small children to the elderly.

The event was MC'd by freelance announcer Mika Murakami (Hitokoto Co., Ltd.). The stage featured a talk show with Kenichi Yoshida, Director of Miyoshi Yoshida Clinic, and Kentaro Tanaka, Representative of Lieb Co., Ltd. They shared their passion for community healthcare and their pharmacy, followed by the main Mochimaki event, which was met with great enthusiasm.
