Another works Launches Seminar Series 'Fukugyo Zemi' for Side Job Practitioners; First Event Focuses on Education

Another works, the operator of the side job matching platform 'Fukugyo Cloud' that connects individuals looking for side jobs with companies and local governments, will hold the first online event of its new seminar series, 'Fukugyo Zemi,' titled: 'Are you stuck wanting to be involved in education? Concrete methods for engaging with the educational field through side jobs as a beginner.'

Background of the Event In recent years, social needs and career formation have changed significantly due to Japan's declining birthrate and aging population, labor market fluidization, and the rapid advancement of technologies such as generative AI. Against this backdrop of structural changes, school education is also required to move away from traditional knowledge-transmission methods toward 'inquiry-based learning' focused on problem-finding and solving.

As symbolized by the 'proactive, interactive, and deep learning' and the 'period of integrated studies' promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), future educational settings will prioritize the ability to face questions without clear answers, think from multifaceted perspectives, and create new value through collaboration. To achieve this, it is essential to bring specialized knowledge and practical expertise cultivated in private enterprises and local communities into the educational field.

However, educational settings face various challenges, including long working hours for teachers, a shortage of human resources, and a lack of opportunities to connect with external experts for inquiry-based learning and career education. While expectations for private sector talent to participate in education are rising, many express concerns like, 'I don't know how to get involved in the education field,' or 'I can't take the first step because I lack educational experience.'

Given this situation, we have partnered with RePlayce, a company that develops career education for middle and high school students, and the Private Talent Participation in Education Promotion Organization (PPTP), which promotes the development of training and certification systems for private talent participation in education, to create new players in the educational field through side jobs.

'Fukugyo Zemi #1: Education Field Edition' is an online event conducted as part of these efforts. With themes such as 'How can I get involved in education as a beginner?', 'What skills and experience are required in the education sector?', and 'What forms of involvement exist for side job talent?', we will welcome guests Yoshihiro Kaneko, Vice President of Tokyo Gakugei University, and Masahiro Yamamoto, Representative Director and CEO of RePlayce, to discuss the changes surrounding the educational field, the significance of private talent involvement, and the realistic perspectives required on the ground.
