Anritsu Corporation (President Koichi Hamada) has received the highest three-star certification under the 'Healthy Meal and Food Environment (commonly known as Smart Meal®)' certification for the menus served at its headquarters cafeteria (Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture; meal service provided by Anritsu Kousan Corporation). The certification period is from August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2028.
Anritsu obtained the two-star certification in 2024, and in this renewal review, it achieved 10 optional criteria, upgrading to the highest three-star certification. This recognizes the company's continuous efforts to create a food environment that supports the health and well-being of its employees.
About the Three-Star Certification
The 'Healthy Meal and Food Environment (Smart Meal®)' certification system is operated by the Healthy Meal and Food Environment Consortium. It comprehensively evaluates the provision of nutritionally balanced meals that contribute to health, as well as the creation of a food environment that makes it easy for users to choose healthy meals.
Anritsu first obtained this certification in 2024, earning the two-star rating. In this renewal review, it achieved 10 optional criteria in addition to the mandatory criteria, resulting in the highest three-star certification.
Initiatives at the Headquarters Cafeteria
At Anritsu's headquarters cafeteria, menus are provided in line with Smart Meal standards to promote the health and well-being of employees. In addition to offering nutritionally balanced meals that combine staple foods, main dishes, and side dishes, the company continues initiatives that support healthy eating habits, such as promoting vegetable intake and reducing salt.
In this certification, various initiatives were recognized, including displaying nutritional information and saturated fatty acid content, offering vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, creating an environment that encourages salt reduction, and introducing a meal subsidy system for employees. Additionally, continuous improvement activities, such as regular meetings to improve the food environment, contributed to the certification.
