Apa Group, a comprehensive urban development company (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Akasaka 3-2-3; CEO: Kazushi Motoya), held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, July 3, for Apa Hotel Nagoya Kanieki-Mae (231 rooms) at its planned site (2-1602 (lot number), Kanie, Naka Ward, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture).

Shinto Ceremony

At the press conference held prior to the groundbreaking, Apa Group President and CEO Kazushi Motoya stated, "This marks our first entry into the Kanie area, following our presence in Nagoya Station, Sakae, and Fushimi areas, and becomes our 10th Apa Hotel property in Nagoya City. Completion is scheduled for January 2028, aligning with the opening of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen. We believe the location offers excellent access to Chubu International Airport and Nagoya Station without transfers, meeting diverse customer demands. Recently, we announced our new five-year mid-term plan, AIM5-II, targeting 100,000 domestic rooms under our own brand by March 2031. Including this hotel, we now have 2,771 rooms in Nagoya, and we aim to expand to 3,000 rooms in the Nagoya area. We plan to achieve further growth in Nagoya through various strategies, including opening new hotels and acquiring adjacent land of existing properties to increase room capacity."

The hotel is located directly in front of Kanie Station, one of Nagoya's major urban hubs (2–5 minutes on foot from 'Kanie Station Exit ①' or 'Kanie Station North Exit'). Kanie Station is a major terminal in central Japan, served by five lines across JR, Meitetsu, and the subway, reaching Nagoya Station and the Sakae area in approximately five minutes. It is just one subway stop (about two minutes) from the Nagoya International Conference Center, scheduled to reopen in spring 2027, positioning the hotel as a prime accommodation base for domestic and international business travelers attending international conferences, academic meetings, and exhibitions (MICE). Its direct access to key business centers in the Mikawa and Chita regions (such as Kariya, Anjo, Okazaki, Tokai, and Handa) further enhances its appeal to corporate guests.

Additionally, the location offers smooth access to major event venues such as Vantelin Dome Nagoya, IG Arena, and Kurokun Hall. It is also highly accessible from Chubu International Airport (Centrair), reachable in about 30 minutes via the Meitetsu Limited Express (direct service), making it ideal for both domestic and international visitors. This prime location supports diverse lodging demand year-round, from business travelers and tourists to event attendees.

The hotel will be a 14-story building with 231 rooms, including an on-site restaurant. Design is by Nissha Sekkei Co., Ltd., construction by Kiuchi Kensetsu Co., Ltd., and design supervision by Tsujimoto Design Office Co., Ltd., with an opening scheduled for January 2028.
