[Art] The Expression of Paintings Emerging in Daily Life: Takero Kano Exhibition 'The Interior as Scene' to be held at Arflex Osaka from May 28 (Thu)

Arflex Japan (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Taku Hoshina) will hold Takero Kano's exhibition 'The Interior as Scene' at Arflex Osaka from May 28 (Thu) to June 16 (Tue).

Arflex Osaka will present the works of painter Takero Kano. This exhibition, which captures the room where paintings are displayed as a 'scene' itself, revisits the relationship between art and interior design that arflex has been proposing through its 'LIFE with ART project.'

The delicate shadows of paint textures and brushstrokes, emerging in gentle light, reveal an intimate expression that blends into daily life, quite different from the uniform lighting found in museums (white cubes).

Takero Kano, who has been exploring the relationship between his own life and paintings, and arflex, which has been conveying the richness of living with art. We hope you will rediscover the comfort of a space where interiors and works of art harmonize, and the pleasure of imagining how to display them in your own life, at Arflex Osaka.

<Artist's Statement> In the exhibition, the light illuminates the painting. But in a room, the light is illuminating something else. Along with natural light, paintings also change throughout the day. In the morning, as the sun enters, shadows stretch, and unknown lines appear within the brushstrokes. Takero Kano

Artist Profile Takero Kano Born in Gunma Prefecture in 1975, based in Tokyo. His production is based on daily outdoor sketching and careful observation of plants, space, and physical senses. While his works seem abstract at first glance, they are born from a process of deconstructing and reconstructing real motifs based on meticulous observation and awareness of structure.
