Artisan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chofu, Tokyo; hereinafter 'Artisan') is pleased to announce that its bus location system, 'Busyohou', now supports version 4.0 of the Public Transport Operational Data Standard Specification (GTFS-JP) (revised March 2026), as set by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
GTFS-JP version 4.0 clarifies and updates the definitions of mandatory, conditionally mandatory, and conditionally prohibited items for GTFS data input/output and GTFS Realtime data output. 'Busyohou' is compliant with all applicable items in these specifications.
Support for recommended and optional items is currently under review.
Response to Subsidy Program Eligibility Requirements
It is expected that compliance with GTFS-JP will increasingly be specified as an eligibility requirement for public transport-related subsidy programs implemented by the national and prefectural governments. With 'Busyohou' being compliant with GTFS-JP version 4.0, operators and local governments considering introduction using subsidies can utilize the system while meeting GTFS-JP requirements.
'Busyohou' is currently implemented in route buses and community buses across 32 prefectures in Japan. We remain committed to contributing to improved public transport data quality and user convenience.
About Busyohou
Aiming to be the No. 1 bus location system, 'Busyohou' is pursuing various projects, including a design renewal that adopts universal design and the improvement of location prediction accuracy using AI. We invite you to look forward to the continued evolution of 'Busyohou'.
