III. Background of the Initiative and Future Outlook
Until now, Asahi Kasei Homes has exchanged paper-based written agreements with customers for new construction contracts of detached and rental housing. In addition to the significant time spent on printing, binding, and traveling to contract signing locations, there were also cost burdens such as stamp duty for both parties' contracts and paper costs for the contracts themselves. Meanwhile, new construction agreements have been considered difficult to digitize due to their complex content. In response, the company began operating a digital contract operations platform system in 2020, promoting the digitization of contract processes. Following a trial of digital new construction contracts in select areas from fiscal year 2025, which confirmed certain time and cost savings, the company has now decided to implement this nationwide. Moving forward, Asahi Kasei Homes plans to expand digitization beyond contracts to include related documents such as various memorandums, further promoting the digitalization of all contract operations. The company will also continue to strengthen its training and operational systems and improve its systems, aiming to provide further value as a leading initiative in the industry.
