Asahi Technology Launches On-site PPA Business for Trial Stores in Collaboration with Subsidiary Asahi Sustainable

Asahi Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture; Representative Director: Yasuyuki Yukinaga; hereinafter "the Company"), in collaboration with its consolidated subsidiary Asahi Sustainable Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Asahi Sustainable"), has officially launched an on-site self-consumption solar power generation service (PPA model) at stores operated by Trial Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Trial").

In this initiative, the Company is responsible for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), while Asahi Sustainable acts as the PPA operator providing power, realizing a "one-stop renewable energy adoption model" that provides everything from design to power supply.

Background In recent years, the need for decarbonization and energy cost optimization has been rising rapidly among companies. For the retail industry in particular, the introduction of renewable energy at individual stores, which consume significant amounts of electricity, is highly valued. However, many companies have struggled to proceed with adoption due to concerns such as initial investment and operational burdens. The PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) model, which can be implemented without initial investment, is attracting attention as a solution to these issues.

Features of the Initiative 1. Integrated Provision of EPC x O&M x PPA By combining the Company's long-standing technical prowess in EPC with Asahi Sustainable's PPA business, we offer an integrated service covering everything from design, procurement, and construction to O&M (operation and maintenance) and power supply.

2. Continuous Deployment to Trial Stores By proceeding with the rollout for Trial's new openings and existing stores, we achieve continuous and scalable adoption.

3. Building a Stock-type Business Through the PPA model, we secure stable revenue based on long-term contracts, shifting our group's revenue structure from flow-type to stock-type.

4. Implementation Track Record and Customer Evaluation In this initiative, we have already started implementation and operation at multiple stores, with a cumulative installed capacity of 9.2 MW and an annual power generation scale of 10,500 MWh (including some planned projects). We are also expanding nationwide across Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Shikoku, and Kyushu, and have received evaluation from Trial stating that it "contributes to electricity cost reduction."

Future Developments Moving forward, in addition to expanding adoption at Trial stores, we will advance horizontal deployment to other retail businesses, logistics facilities, and factories, aiming to expand our renewable energy business centered on on-site PPA. We will also realize long-term stable operation and enhanced value-added for power generation equipment through our O&M (operation and maintenance) services.
