Audemars Piguet Unveils Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon in 'Night Blue, Cloud 50' Ceramic

Swiss haute horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet announces the 41mm Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon featuring its new 'Night Blue, Cloud 50' ceramic material.

Inspired by the starry skies of the Vallée de Joux, this hue symbolizes the brand. The high-resistance ceramic, uniformly colored across the case, bezel, crown, and bracelet, required numerous development stages to achieve consistent tonality across all watch components. The dial features a matching grand tapisserie pattern, highlighting an elegant monochrome aesthetic. At the heart of the timepiece beats Caliber 2950, equipped with a flying tourbillon. White gold hour markers and hands create a refined contrast, while the sapphire case back reveals a rhodium-toned 22K pink gold rotor.

This marks the first time the 'Night Blue, Cloud 50' ceramic, introduced in 2025, has been used in the Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon, enhancing the timepiece’s beauty by combining cutting-edge ceramic with traditional hand-finishing techniques.

A modern design that contrasts with the tourbillon’s traditional elegance and delicacy, the 'Night Blue, Cloud 50' color draws inspiration from the deep blue tone used on the dial of the original Royal Oak, launched in 1972. The case back reveals refined decorations—Côtes de Genève, satin finishing, sunray finishing, circular graining, and polished bevels—that eloquently express the pinnacle of Audemars Piguet’s craftsmanship.
