Under the purpose of 'unleashing the power of finance', Broadminded Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kiyoshi Ito; Securities Code: 7343; hereinafter 'the Company'), which develops and provides financial services to support life plan realization, conducted a card game-based financial education special class called 'Life Produce' and a lecture by an active Financial Planner (FP) on Monday, April 27, for 35 students majoring in Real Estate/FP and Accounting/Finance at the Management Department of Tokyo Business Academy.

While 'Life Produce' has previously been deployed as financial literacy education for elementary, junior high, and high school students, this is the first time a class has been designed with the specific objective of 'deepening the understanding of the FP profession itself'. Aimed at newly enrolled students who have just begun studying for their qualifications this April, the initiative seeks to convey the appeal and social significance of the FP profession.

Background: Conveying the 'Realities of FP Work' Not Seen Through Qualifications Alone

Following the Bank of Japan's gradual interest rate hikes, the policy interest rate has reached its highest level in about 30 years. With increased housing loan repayment burdens, continuous price inflation, and heightened interest in asset building driven by the spread of the new NISA system, the environment surrounding individuals' lives and money has become more complex than ever before. In this 'era of interest rates', the significance of Financial Planners (FPs) - who stay close to individual life plans and utilize cross-sectional financial knowledge to support optimal choices - is increasing more than ever. On the other hand, opportunities to experience the reality of the profession, such as 'what an FP actually does' and 'how they impact clients' lives after obtaining the qualification', remain limited.

Through businesses like our one-stop FP consultation service 'Mane-Pro', our company has handled over 200,000 money-related consultations. Based on the knowledge and experience cultivated in the field, we aim to contribute to improving the social recognition and quality of the FP profession by delivering the 'essence of the job beyond the qualification'.

For the main program of this first-ever class, we utilized our card game-based financial education program 'Life Produce', which we provide as a visiting class. The program is structured so that participants play the same game twice: the first time, they experience walking through life without any plan, and the second time, they walk through life after establishing a life plan, allowing them to feel the difference that having a life plan makes. We believed this mechanism would provide an experiential understanding for students studying FP of 'the exact value delivered to clients when taking on the role of an FP'.

About Tokyo Business Academy

Tokyo Business Academy (formerly Tokyo School of Business) is a comprehensive business school that has produced over 40,000 graduates over 68 years since its opening in 1967. With the theme of 'practical learning, practical business, and the real world', the school implements practical curricula across all departments to foster immediate workforce readiness. It boasts nine diverse departments including management, IT, flower, and pet, and has achieved a 100% employment rate for 8 consecutive years.

In the Real Estate/FP major of the Management Department where the class was held, the curriculum centers on acquiring national qualifications such as Real Estate Broker and Financial Planning Technician, while cultivating practical skills through FP presentations and entrepreneurship theory. The school's educational policy, which emphasizes balancing 'qualification acquisition (specialized skills)' and 'delivering value to society using qualifications (human skills)', deeply resonated with the theme of this class, leading to the realization of this collaboration.

▼ [Part 1] Card Game-Based Financial Education Class 'Life Produce'

'Life Produce' is a program where participants learn how to interact with money through a simulated experience of life events (employment, marriage, buying a home, raising children, hobbies, etc.) in a card game format. Its greatest feature lies in the structure of repeating the same game twice. Players experience the difference a plan makes by navigating life without a plan the first time, and then living the same life with a pre-established plan the second time.

While the main goal in regular classes is for students to learn the importance of life planning as their 'own issue', this time we went a step further. By reframing the first round as the state of a client who has not consulted an FP, and the second round as a client who has received FP support
