Barneys Japan Co., Ltd. will exhibit and sell artworks by artist Mago Nagasaka, who creates art from electronic waste discarded by developed nations, from June 10 to June 24, 2026. In 2017, Nagasaka visited Agbogbloshie, one of the world's largest 'e-waste graveyards' in Ghana, where he met people making a living by burning discarded electronics. This experience led him to start creating art from waste. He advocates for 'Sustainable Capitalism,' a new form of capitalism where economy, culture, and environment circulate and develop together, and continues to work toward transforming slums into sustainable towns. Proceeds from his work are used for local initiatives such as building recycling plants and promoting low-impact agriculture and EV projects, contributing to Ghana's development. During the exhibition, his 2026 new works, centered on his signature 'Moon' series, will be on display. On June 13, Nagasaka will visit the Ginza store to hold a talk show about his vision and the exhibited works.
