BERTRAND Inc. (Headquarters: Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto; CEO: Thomas Bertrand), provider of 'Ship&co', a cloud-based shipping label creation app and API solution that streamlines e-commerce shipping operations, announces the launch of an API integration with ECMS Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hideki Komatsu), a provider of international logistics services for cross-border e-commerce.
With this integration, Ship&co users can directly operate and centrally manage the issuance of shipping labels for ECMS Japan's international courier service 'ECMS EXPRESS' through the Ship&co system.
Background and Benefits of Introduction
ECMS Japan provides international logistics services that meet the needs of the growing cross-border e-commerce industry, leveraging its global network and high IT skills across its three main pillars: international courier, forwarding, and logistics businesses. Since its establishment in January 2016, it has been rapidly growing as a low-cost logistics leader specializing in cross-border e-commerce.
Ship&co has been promoting integrations with major shipping companies such as FedEx, DHL, UPS, Japan Post, and Yamato Transport. However, many e-commerce sellers and logistics operators have requested a highly cost-competitive option specialized in cross-border e-commerce.
The realization of this integration provides the following benefits:
Easy issuance of ECMS EXPRESS shipping labels Shipping labels for ECMS EXPRESS can be issued seamlessly through the Ship&co app and API.
Automatic creation of customs invoices Customs invoices including HS codes, country of origin, and price information are automatically created, streamlining complicated procedures.
Automatic synchronization of tracking numbers Supports automatic reflection of tracking numbers and updates of shipping status to e-commerce platforms (when using the app), reducing operational load after shipping.
Improvement of operational efficiency By automating various processes in shipping operations, human errors are reduced and overall operations are optimized.
Note that while this integration allows the creation of ECMS shipping labels via the Ship&co interface, prior customer registration with ECMS (issuance of an account number) is required to use it.

Comment from Thomas Bertrand, CEO of Ship&co
'The integration with ECMS Japan is an important feature addition that provides a new option for e-commerce sellers looking to expand overseas shipping while prioritizing cost efficiency. Sellers engaged in cross-border e-commerce on platforms like Shopify, eBay, and Amazon will be able to issue ECMS EXPRESS shipping labels directly from the familiar Ship&co interface. Ship&co will continue to provide an environment where shipping label issuance can be performed more easily, quickly, and securely, both domestically and internationally.'
Comment from Hideki Komatsu, CEO of ECMS Japan 'We are very pleased to have realized this integration with Ship&co, which answers the requests we have received from many cross-border e-commerce businesses over the years. Through this initiative, we are now able to offer a more convenient and cost-effective option for overseas shipping. We will continue to strive to improve the convenience of our services while contributing, however modestly, to the further development and accelerated growth of cross-border e-commerce originating from Japan.'
