Binance Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of Binance, the world's largest blockchain ecosystem and crypto-asset infrastructure provider, has released a user usage and behavioral analysis report for the "Binance Japan Card," a crypto-linked payment card launched in Japan in January 2026. The report covers the early phase of the launch (January to April 2026).
Since its launch, the card has been steadily gaining popularity as a routine payment method for users in Japan. With the rapid increase in the practical utility of crypto-linked payments in real life, Binance Japan hopes that the release of this report will further accelerate the fusion of the Web3 ecosystem and the real economy, making digital assets more accessible and convenient for Japanese users.
Report Highlights ○ High frequency of use — 1.4 times the industry average Binance Japan card recorded an average of approximately 22 transactions per month (March: 22.3, April: 22.0). According to the "Comprehensive Survey on Cashless Payments 2025" by JCB Co., Ltd., this is 41% higher than the Japanese credit card industry average of 15.6 transactions per month, indicating users actively use the card for daily payments.
○ High retention rate and strong engagement The average monthly retention rate was approximately 92%. It was confirmed that 89% of the first-batch (January) registered users were still actively using the card as of April, showing a very strong intention for long-term service usage.
○ Expanded use for transport IC, payment service top-ups, e-commerce, and daily shopping Usage for topping up transportation IC cards (Suica) and payment services such as JAL Pay and ANA Pay is surging. The card is used in a wide range of daily life scenarios, including daily shopping on Amazon, Apple subscription payments, and at convenience stores and vending machines.
○ Increasing awareness of the "Earn crypto in every aspect of life" experience Within four months of launch, a total of 83.63 BNB in rewards were distributed to 2,386 users, proving the accessibility and utility of crypto-linked payments in Japan.
Detailed report and user behavioral trends 1.
