NTT Data Corporation, NTT Data BizIntegrals, Inc., and WingArc1st, Inc. conducted a verification project in fiscal year 2025 at Tokyu Corporation to enhance accounting operations using Generative AI. In this verification, they integrated the ERP package 'Biz∫' with the Generative AI platform 'dejiren AI' to automate slip entry from invoices and verification tasks. As a result, they estimated a maximum work reduction effect of 38% in accounting slip entry tasks. Through this, Tokyu aims to reduce work by approximately 5,000 hours annually. Furthermore, they confirmed that the check function using Generative AI leads to error detection at the application stage, efficiency in verification work, and standardization of operations through unified confirmation perspectives. Through this initiative, they confirmed the effectiveness of applying Generative AI even in accounting tasks that involve many tasks requiring judgment of non-routine information. Moving forward, they will proceed with considerations for expansion to other accounting tasks and deployment to Tokyu's group companies. In the accounting and finance departments of Japanese companies, in addition to labor shortages due to the declining birthrate and aging population, operations are becoming more complex due to institutional responses and the sophistication of internal controls. In particular, tasks such as checking invoice contents, slip entry, and verification involve many tasks that require professional and high-level judgment of non-routine information, and there is a tendency for tasks to become personalized, relying on specific personnel. Amidst this, Generative AI is attracting attention as a technology that can replace or support the reading and structuring of document data and collation work with past data, which are currently performed manually. NTT Data and NTT Data BizIntegrals have supported the digitalization of core operations through the large-scale enterprise ERP package 'Biz∫.' This time, by linking with the Generative AI platform 'dejiren AI' provided by WingArc, they conducted this verification to aim for further efficiency and sophistication of accounting operations. In the verification, they conducted tests in an environment where the ERP 'Biz∫' and the Generative AI platform 'dejiren AI' were linked, targeting a series of tasks from invoice processing to slip entry and verification. As a result, they estimated a maximum work reduction effect of 38% in these series of tasks. Tokyu aims to reduce work by approximately 5,000 hours annually. 1. Automatic slip entry from invoices: Generative AI reads invoice information, searches and refers to past similar slips, and automatically creates slips. This reduces the burden of input work previously performed manually and confirms the improvement of input accuracy. 2. Automation of verification work by Generative AI: Generative AI automatically judges verification tasks such as compliance with the invoice system and the validity of account titles. This contributes to error detection at the application stage and standardization of business processes. It is expected that personnel will be freed from routine verification tasks and can focus on higher-level judgment and control tasks. 3. Business support through interactive interface: They verified a mechanism that adopts a chat-style interface, allowing users to confirm and correct entry contents while interacting with Generative AI. This confirmed that even users without sufficient accounting knowledge can perform appropriate processing, leading to the suppression of the personalization of operations. In addition, it is equipped with functions to process multiple vouchers in bulk and select entry methods according to transaction patterns. This confirms the compatibility of standardization of operations and flexible operation, as users can confirm and correct contents in an interactive format for non-routine transactions while aiming for efficiency in processing using past slips for routine transactions. Based on the results obtained in this verification, they will proceed with considerations for full-scale application to actual operations at Tokyu. They will also support phased and reliable introduction with an eye on expansion to other accounting tasks and deployment to Tokyu's group companies.
