The BMW & MINI Racing Committee (Management Secretariat: Geomic Motorsports Co., Ltd. [Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Naka Ward, Representative Director: Wataru Morishita]) will hold the "BMW & MINI Racing 2026 RD.4 Sportsland SUGO Supported by QUETTA GROUP," which is RD.4 (Rounds 7 & 8) of BMW & MINI Racing 2026 (hereinafter, BMR.2026), on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026, for two days at Sportsland SUGO (Murata Town, Shibata District, Miyagi Prefecture).
BMR.2026, as a stylish and sporty luxury "one-make race for BMW / MINI," offers not only the excitement of racing but also numerous content elements that turn spectating into an "experience." At RD.4, we will deliver the charm of motorsports in a more three-dimensional way through close-up experiences only possible at the circuit, such as grid walks that allow you to share the tension just before the final race, and pit tours that take you behind the scenes in the pits.

New Race Format "GRAN HEAT"
"GRAN HEAT" is a special race format newly adopted by BMR.2026. Its debut will be held at Sportsland SUGO in midsummer. In the 50-minute endurance race format final, pit stops are mandatory, and battles where mere speed is not enough to win will begin, involving driver changes, refueling, and tire management.
The tension accelerates with each lap, from pit stop timing to team coordination and late-race tactics. Bonus points will be awarded to finishers, significantly impacting the series standings. This is a new challenge for BMR.2026, allowing participants to experience the unity unique to endurance racing, including the excitement of the race and strategic maneuvers.
"GRAN HEAT" Rules
Participants can enter with 1 to 2 drivers per car. In a two-driver team, one driver will be the starting driver for Round 7 and the other for Round 8. The final race will be approximately 50 minutes long. All cars must make a pit stop between 15 minutes and 35 minutes after the race start, within a 20-minute window. Pit stop times are set at 8 minutes, 8 minutes 30 seconds, and 9 minutes depending on the driver class. Refueling is allowed up to a maximum of 20L, and there is also a limit on the number of tires used.
Spectator Experience Content
● Grid Walk
This popular content allows attendees to enter the course, which is usually off-limits, just before the final race and experience the racing cars lined up on the grid up close. The appeal lies in feeling the "temperature of the venue" – the tension right before the start, the atmosphere of the team making final adjustments, and the expressions of the drivers and mechanics. It's a special time to take home the "moment the race begins" from your own perspective, with the realism also captured in photos and videos.
● Pit Tour
Visit the pits of participating racing teams and observe the racing cars and mechanics at work up close. This content, which includes observing the work procedures and listening to talks by team members and racing drivers, allows families and motorsports fans alike to experience the "behind-the-scenes" of race participation.
● Ambassador Photoshoot
Photoshoot with the official event ambassadors who add glamour to the race. This creates photogenic moments as a way to enjoy the circuit beyond just "driving." Ms. Erina Kitagawa and Ms. Saya Asakura have been appointed as the official ambassadors for the 2026 season and will further liven up BMR.2026.

● Kids Mechanic
This program allows children to learn about the inspection and work concepts essential for safe driving while experiencing racing cars and the basics of automotive maintenance. Focusing on themes such as tires, engine oil, tools, and daily inspections, it provides a learning opportunity that goes beyond mere "play" by conveying information in an age-appropriate manner, fostering interest in cars and manufacturing.
This content not only enhances the experiential value at race venues but also aims to promote understanding of automotive culture, spark interest in manufacturing, and serve as a catalyst for nurturing human resources who will support the future automotive and motorsports industries. For children, it serves as an "entry point to loving cars," and for parents, it is an experiential content that can be enjoyed as a family along with spectating.
Participation in the Kids Mechanic program can be registered on the day at the BMR Reception. Those interested are welcome to speak with the reception staff at the venue.
