"Theatrical Version Aikatsu Stars! -Anniversary Stars-" is being screened for a limited three-week run starting July 3 (Fri) to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
A commemorative stage greeting event was held on July 4 (Sat) at Shinjuku Wald 9.
Miyu Tomita (Yume Nijino) and Ayaka Asai (Rola Sakuraba) took the stage and shared their 10 years of feelings and anecdotes from the time with the gathered fans.
Tomita expressed, "It's deeply moving to be able to participate in a stage greeting for a revival screening after 10 years," while Asai said, "I'm happy to feel everyone's love for Aikatsu again after so long." With these greetings to the fans, the stage event began.
Among the attendees were those who had seen the film in theaters 10 years ago, as well as first-time viewers. While reminiscing about the past, they shared their feelings about "Aikatsu Stars!."
When asked about how their feelings towards "Aikatsu Stars!" have changed over the past 10 years, and what aspects remain unchanged, Tomita stated, "I've come to realize that the story of 'Aikatsu Stars!' isn't just about 'sparkling and fun!' but also realistically depicts the rigorous process of becoming a sparkling idol, including effort and conflict. Even now, when I sometimes feel down or troubled at work, I recall Yume and the others from 'Aikatsu Stars!' and draw strength from them. 'Aikatsu Stars!' remains my foundation even today."
Asai added, "Back when we were doing the voice acting, it was a work that we put our effort into together, a presence by my side. Now, with time passed, I feel a sense of cuteness and affection towards it, as if it were my own child. I've also been approached at other work sites by people saying they watched 'Aikatsu Stars!,' and while I'm happy to hear their continued affection after 10 years, I also feel the weight of those 10 years."
Regarding the completely new film "Aikatsu Stars! ~Stars' Progress~," announced yesterday to commemorate the 10th anniversary of "Aikatsu Stars!," Tomita said, "I'm really looking forward to reuniting with the cast and creating the work!" Asai commented, "I want to pour 10 years of feelings into the voice acting!" expressing their enthusiasm for the new movie.
