LIB, an ethical brand developed by Borderless Japan, is releasing its first collection featuring mixed materials.
The initial launch utilizes 100% recycled cotton canvas made from textile scraps collected during the garment-making process. Two models, the Canvas Mini Shoulder Bag and the Canvas Wide Tote Bag, were released on June 5, 2026, with more items to follow.
[Challenge of Mixed Materials] Previously focusing on leather, LIB is now exploring scene-less products that transcend materials and categories, responding to customer requests for lighter bags suitable for both work and weekends.
[Features of Recycled Cotton Canvas] This material, born from fibers once destined for waste, combines the lightness of canvas with the quality of leather. It is designed to be a new staple suitable for work, weekends, and travel.
[Product Details] 1. Canvas Mini Shoulder Bag: 11,990 JPY (incl. tax). Weighs approx. 265g. 2. Canvas Wide Tote Bag: 19,990 JPY (incl. tax). Weighs approx. 760g. Both items launched on June 5, 2026, at 21 LIB stores nationwide and the official website. Note: Sales at the Naha Airport branch are currently under adjustment due to Typhoon No. 6.
[Future Outlook] The brand plans to continue expanding its ethical options by exploring materials such as suede and nylon.
