Professionals reveal the logic of 'engagement'—applicable to storytelling and planning.

Many creators face challenges such as 'I can use the tools, but I don't know the right way to direct' or 'I can produce what I'm told, but I can't come up with original ideas.'

The book 'Story Structure That Immerses the Audience' addresses these issues by translating the 'text-based theory' of screenwriting into 'visual expression'—including composition, lighting, and camera work.

The book systematically explains the logic behind creating immersive experiences for audiences.

For this commemorative event, we welcome two leading professionals: Keiya Ando, film director whose 3DCG film 'See You Tomorrow' won Grand Prix at the Montreal International Animation Film Festival; and Yui Kurita, storyboard artist currently teaching 'Creating Heartfelt Storyboards from the Basics' on Coloso.

They will engage in an in-depth discussion on the importance of understanding immersive visual direction, share key insights for creating compelling projects, and recommend films and works that serve as excellent references for structure and direction.

This is a rare opportunity to learn storytelling frameworks applicable not only to drama, film, and games, but also to event planning. Audience questions will be accepted during the broadcast.

About the Book 'Story Structure That Immerses the Audience'

The long-awaited Japanese edition of the 'bible of storytelling for visual creators,' developed at top studios like Disney and Electronic Arts (EA), is now available.

Authored by Professor Craig Caldwell, a veteran story artist from world-class studios who has contributed to numerous hit productions, this book is a theoretical guide to story structure specifically tailored for visual storytelling.

It solves common creative dilemmas—'I can use the tools, but I don’t know how to direct effectively'—by translating screenwriting's 'text-based theory' into visual techniques such as composition, lighting, and camera work.

Through visual breakdowns of acclaimed films and games, the book systematically reveals the logic behind audience immersion. It compiles lifelong principles for visual storytellers—including 3D artists, character designers, and game developers—into one essential volume.
