Mother and Child Health Handbook App "Boshi-mo" Launches in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture!

The Mother and Child Health Handbook app "Boshi-mo," operated by Boshi-mo Co., Ltd., has been officially introduced in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture, and began its service as "Wakayama Child-rearing Support App" on Tuesday, March 10th. Wakayama City's basic philosophy is "Wakayama City: A city where everyone raises children, and children grow up healthy and sparkling," aiming to create a city where all children grow up healthy and parents can raise children with peace of mind, by enhancing support tailored to children's developmental stages and establishing a system to reliably deliver support information. As part of its initiatives to promote the digitalization of administrative services, "Boshi-mo," which allows easy support for everything from mother and child health handbook records to local information on smartphones and tablets and has been adopted by over 830 municipalities, was selected. Additionally, the "Online Reservation Service" of "Kosodate DX®," a digital transformation support service for municipal childcare-related projects available as an additional feature of "Boshi-mo," has also launched. This will allow reservations for events held at local childcare support centers to be made via the app.

The city is also working towards creating an environment where parents can raise children with peace of mind, by establishing 10 "Regional Childcare Support Centers" within the city where parents and children can interact and receive childcare consultations, and by operating "Childcare Plazas" where children from 0 years old to pre-school age and their guardians can interact. The city is also focusing on providing administrative services utilizing digital technology to ensure that child-rearing families can obtain necessary information. As part of this effort, the Mother and Child Health Handbook app "Boshi-mo" is being introduced, along with the "Online Reservation Service" of "Kosodate DX," which is available as an additional feature.

◆Locally-Oriented Childcare App Strongly Supports Streamlining Tasks for Residents and Staff!

The "Wakayama Child-rearing Support App," adopted by Wakayama City, is a service compatible with smartphones, tablets, and PCs. It is equipped with a wealth of convenient features to assist busy mothers and fathers with childcare and work, such as recording and managing health data for expectant mothers and children, managing vaccination schedules, providing advice on childbirth and childcare, sharing functions with family members like grandparents living in distant areas, and notifying users of local information distributed by the city. Furthermore, with the introduction of the "Online Reservation Service" of "Kosodate DX," it will be possible to make online reservations for events held at regional childcare support centers. This is expected to alleviate the anxiety and burden on child-rearing households, as guardians can easily search for and book events they wish to participate in 24 hours a day, from anywhere via the app. Additionally, facility staff can aim to streamline reservation tasks that were previously handled by phone or other means. Moreover, reservations for "Childcare Planner Visit Consultations," where various childcare-related concerns can be discussed, will also be available via the app. Moving forward, the city will continue to promote the creation of an environment where parents can raise children with peace of mind by developing systems for easier procedures and providing seamless, personalized support to alleviate the burden and anxiety of child-rearing households.
