This function uses AI to automatically generate Gantt charts based on estimates and PDF/image Gantt charts.

Background of Development

In the construction industry, the practice of creating Gantt charts from scratch using spreadsheet software after receiving an order remains deeply rooted, posing a significant administrative burden for site managers. A large amount of time has been spent on indirect tasks such as inputting and transcribing information into Gantt charts, from identifying necessary tasks while reviewing construction details, estimates, and site conditions, to assigning schedules and sharing them with stakeholders.

While "CAREECON Plus" has a function to efficiently create Gantt charts from scratch, existing Gantt charts in PDF or image format cannot be directly handled as editable Gantt chart data. This necessitates manual input and transcription of work content and schedules. Such manual work carries the risk of omissions and transcription errors.

Therefore, BRANU developed "AI Gantt Chart," which automates Gantt chart creation by reading process information from estimates and PDF/image Gantt charts. By having AI analyze the content of uploaded documents and automatically perform tasks from process classification to organizing schedule information, this function streamlines the input and transcription tasks associated with Gantt chart creation, providing site managers with an environment where they can focus on tasks requiring more judgment, such as progress confirmation, stakeholder coordination, and responding to schedule changes.

About "AI Gantt Chart"

"AI Gantt Chart" is a function that automatically generates Gantt charts on "CAREECON Plus" simply by uploading estimates or Gantt charts in PDF or image format, allowing AI to read their content.

When an estimate is uploaded, the AI reads the listed construction items and work content to generate a draft Gantt chart. It creates the foundation for Gantt chart creation by organizing the overall construction flow into major processes and their sub-processes. Furthermore, when Gantt charts in PDF or image format are uploaded, the AI reads the listed process names and schedules and reconstructs them as editable and shareable Gantt chart data on "CAREECON Plus."

The generated Gantt chart can be previewed, and the person in charge can confirm and edit the process names and durations. If there are no issues, it can be registered as an actual Gantt chart. This design, where AI-generated results are reviewed by humans before reflection, allows for operation tailored to the situation of each site.

This function streamlines the input and transcription tasks associated with Gantt chart creation, providing site managers with an environment where they can concentrate on more essential tasks.
