Started diving at age 5, inspired by his older brother. After competing in his first national tournament in fourth grade, he became deeply passionate about the sport and set his sights on becoming a professional athlete. Despite suffering two major injuries—fractured left kneecap in first year of middle school and fractured right kneecap in final year of high school, both requiring surgery and long rehabilitation—he placed third in the Men’s 3m Springboard event at the 96th Japan Swimming Championships in 2020 while studying at Nippon Sport Science University. In 2024, he won first place in the Men’s 3m Synchronized Diving event at the Japan Swimming Championships.
