BS Nippon to Broadcast Three Weeks of Jason Statham Films

The "Strongest Man" captivating fans: Jason Statham

Since his breakout role in "The Transporter" (2002), Jason Statham has been a fixture in blockbuster action films. Known for playing characters with elite, silent skills and showcasing intense, realistic martial arts, he continues to captivate fans worldwide as the "world's most reliable action star."

BS Nippon will broadcast three films that established Statham's popularity as a Hollywood star for three consecutive weeks.

- May 31 (Sun) 6:45 PM - "Killer Elite" (2011) Featuring Jason Statham, Clive Owen, and Robert De Niro. This non-stop action thriller follows Danny, a retired elite assassin, who is forced to undertake an assassination mission targeting SAS members to rescue his captured partner.

- June 7 (Sun) 8:54 PM - "The Mechanic" (2010) A remake of the 1972 classic, this film solidified the "silent, stoic, invincible Statham" persona. It portrays Arthur Bishop, a perfect assassin who makes murders look like accidents, as he mentor's his late friend's son.

- June 14 (Sun) 8:54 PM - "Mechanic: Resurrection" (2016) A sequel starring Tommy Lee Jones, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Yeoh. Bishop, having retired from the business, is forced back by an old foe to assassinate three world-controlling arms dealers, leading him to devise a counter-plan.
