This time, with the theme "Gaze on Ways of Living," we have selected books that focus on life, words, the body, the city, and memory, along with photo books by three photographers connected to Open Room. We hope to provide an opportunity to think about "seeing" and "ways of living" for those of us who live without letting go of our own gaze.

Daily Practice Books
Daily Practice Books is a book community in Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, an experimental space that opens its home and blurs the public and private aspects of a bookshelf. Books are mine, yours, and nobody's. And is the space where those books are lined up a home? A bookstore? A library? The boundaries may actually be ambiguous. Sometimes we have tea and chat, creating a space that is like a shop and like a home. We usually handle used and new books in such a place, but we look forward to meeting many people in a more open space than usual this time.

We will exhibit and sell photo books and zines mainly by photographers like Mai Komura and Kyohei Hattori, whom we have met through opening our home as a book community in Hiroo, Shibuya-ku. They speak to us about fragments of everyday life, their own and others' bodies, and the gazes directed at them, not as distant figures, but as close presences. We also plan to sell Daily Practice Books original merchandise.

We have conducted exhibitions and publishing activities with a sensory approach, without being bound by rules or relying solely on subjective judgment, maintaining an open stance. We actively procure items that fit the store's concept for self-published books and actively support independent publishing artists. Since the beginning of this year, we have also challenged new projects, such as publishing zines by 13 Japanese artists to introduce them to overseas audiences and participating in overseas fairs.
