Final Installment of Shuichi Yoshida's Popular Series 'Forever and Yokomichi Yonosuke' to be Published on June 10. Film Adaptation Greenlit!

The Bunshun Bunko paperback edition of 'Forever and Yokomichi Yonosuke' (Eien to Yokomichi Yonosuke), the conclusion to the popular series that has also seen film adaptations, will be published on June 10, 2026.

In the first book 'Yokomichi Yonosuke,' which was adapted into a movie, 18-year-old Yonosuke travels from Nagasaki to attend university in Tokyo. In the second book, 'Okaeri Yokomichi Yonosuke,' he restarts his life as a 24-year-old freelancer. Now, in the third installment, 'Forever and Yokomichi Yonosuke,' the rich life of Yonosuke at age 39 is woven into the story.

Reflecting on the hardcover release, author Shuichi Yoshida remarked, 'I was reluctant to finish writing it. I don't think I would be who I am today if I hadn't met him.' This book marks the finale of the story of Yoshida's 'dear friend.'

Additionally, it has been decided that 'Forever and Yokomichi Yonosuke' will be adapted into a film, and the project is currently underway.

### Synopsis The setting is 'Dormy Kichijoji no Minami,' a boarding house in the Tokyo suburbs. Living among unique residents is photographer Yonosuke Yokomichi. Now 39, he is cheeky, an optimist, but unpretentious, and someone who cannot ignore a person in need. Around him, there are always trivial conversations and warm laughter. ### Author Profile Shuichi Yoshida (Born 1968, Nagasaki). Awarded the Akutagawa Prize for 'Park Life' and the Yamamoto Shugoro Prize for 'Parade' in 2002. His works like 'The Villain' (Akunin) and 'National Treasure' (Kokuhou) have become bestsellers and inspired major films. In 2010, he received the Shibata Renzaburo Award for 'Yokomichi Yonosuke.'
