About "Tako, Celery, Avocado"

This is a collection of new essays by Akari Hasegawa. It vividly depicts Hasegawa's journey to becoming a culinary researcher, covering topics from her childhood eating habits and stories from her time as a child actor, to family mealtime stories, her first encounter with recipe books, and stories about onigiri she made for friends. Between chapters, recipes are included, such as her parents' comforting flavors for when she had a cold, "nameless" pasta made on holidays, and chicken and celery with anchovy cream sauce made for her best friend.

The book design is by Mei Otsubo, winner of the JAGDA New Designer Award 2026. She created a refreshing check pattern design inspired by the title's octopus, celery, and avocado.
