Cumulative registrations of the new PHEV "BYD SEALION 6" reached 1,254 units*1, significantly driving sales.

BYD Auto Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, President: Atsuki Toufukuji, hereinafter referred to as BAJ) announced that its registrations for the first half of 2026 (January-June) reached 2,334 units*1, a significant increase of +42.7% compared to the same period last year.

This marks the third consecutive year of positive growth for BYD's domestic registrations in the first half of the year.

In the first half of 2026, in addition to the existing BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) lineup, the newly introduced hybrid SUV "BYD SEALION 6 (PHEV)" recorded 1,254 registrations*1, leading the overall BYD passenger car brand business. This also contributed to further expanding brand recognition and disseminating BYD's advanced technological capabilities. In appreciation of this customer support, BAJ is implementing a "Free BYD ePassport" campaign for customers considering purchasing BYD BEV models, and has also prepared a special purchase support campaign "SEALION 6 Select Package" for the hybrid model "BYD SEALION 6".

Free "BYD ePassport" for BEV Model Purchasers

Customers who place an order and complete registration for eligible vehicles (see below) within the target period will receive BYD's maintenance package "BYD ePassport" free of charge.

"BYD ePassport" is a maintenance program that includes service costs for the first vehicle inspection. Service staff familiar with BYD vehicles will check the vehicle's condition using a dedicated diagnostic system, providing high-quality maintenance services at BYD authorized dealers nationwide.
