BYD Updates Specifications and Adjusts Pricing for SEALION 7 Series; Launches Special Limited-Edition Model to Celebrate 2,000 Units Registered

BYD's electric vehicle, the 'BYD SEALION 7' series, receives specification updates and price adjustments.

The 'BYD SEALION 7' series has achieved over 2,000 cumulative registrations within just one year of launch—the fastest among domestically sold models*¹.

To commemorate this milestone, BYD launches its first-ever special limited-edition model: the 'BYD SEALION 7 Limited'.

BYD Auto Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Atsuki Tofukuji; abbreviated as BAJ) announces specification enhancements to its popular battery electric vehicle (BEV) series, the 'BYD SEALION 7 (BYD Sealion 7)', along with a revision of the nationwide manufacturer's suggested retail price, due to rising fuel and related costs linked to recent Middle East developments.

Additionally, to celebrate surpassing 2,000 cumulative sales, BYD will launch the special limited-edition 'BYD SEALION 7 Limited'—based on the rear-wheel-drive 'BYD SEALION 7'—at authorized BYD dealers nationwide.

About the 'BYD SEALION 7' Series

The 'BYD SEALION 7' series began sales in April 2025 as BYD's flagship passenger BEV model. Since launch, it has been highly praised for its advanced features based on BYD's superior technology, equipment that exceeds its price point, eye-catching interior and exterior design, and selectable model grades (rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive) tailored to customers' lifestyles. It has recorded over 2,000 cumulative registrations within one year—fastest among all BYD models introduced to Japan*¹—making it a best-selling model that strongly drives the BYD brand.

Specification Updates and New Pricing for the 'BYD SEALION 7' Series

This update includes standard installation of a 'rear tonneau cover' on all 'BYD SEALION 7' series models (22 models, including rear-wheel and all-wheel drive) to enhance cargo area privacy. Additionally, based on customer feedback, the range of motion of the passenger-side side mirror (visibility from the driver's seat) has been optimized. Following this specification change, the nationwide manufacturer's suggested retail price for all 'BYD SEALION 7' models will be revised. The revision is due to rising fuel and related costs caused by recent Middle East developments.

About the 'BYD SEALION 7 Limited'

To commemorate exceeding 2,000 cumulative orders for the 'BYD SEALION 7' series, BYD introduces the special limited-edition 'BYD SEALION 7 Limited (BYD Sealion 7 Limited)'. Sales begin today, July 14, 2026 (Tuesday), at authorized BYD dealers nationwide.

The base model is the 'BYD SEALION 7 (Rear-Wheel Drive: RWD)', featuring a new color—lavender—that conveys calmness and elegance.

The nationwide manufacturer's suggested retail price and equipment specifications are identical to the updated standard 'BYD SEALION 7' model. Only 20 units will be sold nationwide.
