On June 3, 2026, West Tokachi Forest Association, Hokkaido Bank, and Bywill signed a partnership agreement to promote carbon neutrality and a circular economy through J-Credits. J-Credits are a Japanese government-certified scheme where greenhouse gas reduction or absorption through activities like forest management is traded as credits. Based on the agreement, the three parties will provide information, services, and expertise, and create new business models utilizing environmental values. Previously, Hokkaido Bank and Bywill signed a customer referral agreement on June 8, 2023. This partnership was formed after Hokkaido Bank introduced Bywill to West Tokachi Forest Association. Moving forward, the parties will promote J-Credit generation through forest management and distribution. Bywill will support the entire process from project registration, application, and monitoring to credit sales, collaborating with Hokkaido Bank to drive local decarbonization in Hokkaido.
