Bywill Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yuichiro Shitomura; hereinafter "Bywill"), a company dedicated to advancing economic cycles through environmental value and realizing a world where "everyone wants to engage in GX (Green Transformation)," announces its role in supplying and selling J-Credits for the environmentally conscious deposit product "Kyushu J-Credit Deposit." This product will be jointly launched by Kumamoto Bank, Ltd., Oita Bank, Ltd., Miyazaki Bank, Ltd., and Kagoshima Bank, Ltd., with operations commencing on Friday, July 10, 2026.

This initiative marks the first of its kind in Kyushu and is Japan’s first wide-area collaborative deposit product that awards J-Credits, based on the "Agreement on Regional Circulating and Symbiotic Zones in Central and Southern Kyushu" (※1) signed by the four banks. Leveraging its extensive expertise in J-Credits (※3)—one of Japan’s most established carbon credit systems—Bywill will fully support the provision of carbon credits (forest credits) and carbon offset mechanisms for corporate customers who deposit funds through this product.

【Background and Bywill’s Role】

Kumamoto Bank, Oita Bank, Miyazaki Bank, Kagoshima Bank, and the Kyushu Regional Environmental Office signed the "Agreement on Regional Circulating and Symbiotic Zones in Central and Southern Kyushu" in 2020, and have since continued efforts toward regional revitalization and ESG finance.

Bywill advances partnerships with regional financial institutions nationwide, centered on the concept of "local production and local consumption of environmental value." In this initiative, Bywill will procure and supply "forest credits" generated in the four regions of Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima. Through this deposit product, corporate depositors can directly contribute to forest development and conservation efforts in Kyushu—achieving carbon offset—simply by depositing funds, thereby realizing a sustainable economic cycle that leverages regional environmental value.

Additionally, Bywill will provide end-to-end support—from J-Credit creation and procurement to business model development—enabling companies to transform decarbonization efforts from a cost into a driver of corporate value.
