About the Childcare Certification Exam

The 'Childcare Certification Exam' is a national exam held twice a year.

It consists of a written test (9 subjects) and a practical test (2 areas). Eligibility is granted upon meeting certain conditions (graduation from university, junior college, or vocational school, or high school graduation plus designated practical experience).

Additionally, Osaka Prefecture offers a 'Region-Limited Childcare Certification Exam' where practical training replaces the practical test.

Main eligibility requirements:

Graduates of universities, junior colleges, or vocational schools (any department or major)

High school graduates: At least 2 years (and 2,880 hours) of practical experience at child welfare facilities, etc. ※It is possible to fulfill this practical experience requirement by working at a childcare facility through this program.
