CARRO JAPAN Partners with South Korea's ORBRO to Drive DX in Factories and Logistics Warehouses

(Carro), has begun a collaboration with ORBRO Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "ORBRO"), a South Korean company that provides high-precision real-time locating systems (RTLS) and digital twin technologies, to promote digital transformation (DX) in Japanese factories and logistics warehouses.

Background and Objectives CARRO JAPAN provides advanced fleet management systems to improve the efficiency of outdoor mobility and logistics. However, challenges such as the transfer of skills from experienced workers due to labor shortages and the operational efficiency within factories and logistics warehouses have arisen. Traditional systems designed for outdoor mobility struggle to capture the minute movements of people, goods, and heavy machinery indoors, making it difficult to contribute to operational efficiency. To address this issue, CARRO JAPAN is collaborating with ORBRO, which excels in high-precision indoor location platforms utilizing UWB (Ultra-Wideband), Vision AI, and digital twin technologies. By combining CARRO JAPAN's expertise in managing the operation of vehicles and other assets with ORBRO's technology, they will offer a solution that seamlessly connects outdoor transportation with indoor operations in factories and warehouses, powerfully driving DX in industrial settings.

Main Collaboration Activities 1. Eliminating Waste (Improving Efficiency) within Factories and Logistics Warehouses Utilizing ORBRO's RTLS, the movements of workers, forklifts, and materials indoors will be tracked in real-time and reproduced in a 3D digital twin space. Furthermore, by combining this with CARRO JAPAN's insights into fleet management, issues in the entire workflow, from vehicle docking to loading/unloading, storage, and picking within the warehouse, can be identified. This will enable data-driven optimization of layouts and personnel allocation.

2. Supporting Skill Transfer by Visualizing Expert Operations Expert workers' tasks and time spent will be digitized and compared/analyzed with those of new employees. This will standardize the tacit knowledge of skilled workers, enabling smooth skill transfer.

3. Joint Development of Next-Generation Smart Factories in Collaboration with Safety Management Systems Solutions that dramatically improve on-site safety, such as intrusion detection in hazardous areas and proximity alerts between heavy machinery/forklifts and workers, will be jointly proposed to domestic customers, with implementation support provided.
