Hiroshi Uchida's Solo Exhibition 'Small Oil Paintings 2026' to be Held at SHARE LOUNGE Karuizawa T-SITE Starting May 25

Culture Convenience Club Co., Ltd. will host a solo exhibition, 'Small Oil Paintings 2026', by oil painter Hiroshi Uchida at SHARE LOUNGE Karuizawa T-SITE from May 25 (Mon) to July 3 (Fri), 2026.

Following the successful 'Small Oil Paintings' exhibitions at Karuizawa Shoten Naka-Karuizawa in 2024 and 2025, this year's event will feature and offer for sale approximately 70 new works, including new pieces embedded with cut glass.

'Small Oil Paintings' were created in response to feedback that people often want to display beautiful art but struggle with limited space or wall availability.

Designed as 'little treasures,' these works are painted on thin copper plates using traditional techniques adapted for modern lifestyles. While copper plate oil painting is not widely known in Japan, it has a history of being used by missionaries for their portability and durability. Uchida's still-life paintings invite viewers into a world of serenity.

Additionally, the exhibition includes collaborative works with Joh Miyai of 'Gakushi Yuyuga,' known for creating unique, artful frames. Uchida's paintings, framed by Miyai, offer a fresh and accessible aesthetic.
