Chiyomusubi Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture, President: Satoshi Okasora, hereinafter: the Company), located in Sakaiminato City, the birthplace of Shigeru Mizuki, will release two types of special label new products, "Yokai Series Whiskey," inspired by "Mizuki Shigeru Road," a representative tourist spot in Sakaiminato, exclusively at the Chiyomusubi Taishobashi Store starting July 4 (Sat), 2026. The two types are "BETOBETO SAN PURE MALT WHISKY," featuring the popular yokai "Betobeto-san" on the label, and "GASHADOKURO BLENDED WHISKY," featuring "Gashadokuro" on the label. This product will not be sold online and can only be purchased at the Taishobashi Store by those who visit the location.

Background of the Release

Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture, where Chiyomusubi Sake Brewery is located, is known as the birthplace of manga artist Shigeru Mizuki. The city features "Mizuki Shigeru Road," lined with bronze statues of yokai appearing in Shigeru Mizuki's works, and the Chiyomusubi Taishobashi Store faces this road. Since the development of Mizuki Shigeru Road in 1993, the Company has been developing products featuring yokai from the popular manga "GeGeGe no Kitaro" on their labels, with the desire to deliver the charm of sake brewing along with the cultural and tourist attractions of its hometown, Sakaiminato. The "Yokai Series Whiskey" to be released this time is a special product exclusively for the Taishobashi Store. Bronze statues of both yokai are located within Mizuki Shigeru Road, not far from the Taishobashi Store. The product was planned as a way to connect with the enjoyment of sightseeing in Sakaiminato, allowing visitors to encounter the yokai while walking the road and then pick up the limited edition whiskey at the Taishobashi Store with that lingering impression. We have finished it as a recommended bottle for tourist souvenirs and gifts, as a whiskey that allows you to feel the essence of Sakaiminato.

Mizuki Shigeru Road is a tourist spot that was established in July 1993 in Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture, the birthplace of manga artist Shigeru Mizuki. The street extending from JR Sakaiminato Station is lined with bronze statues of yokai appearing in Shigeru Mizuki's works and is loved by many as a representative tourist destination of Sakaiminato. Currently, all 177 yokai bronze statues have been rearranged by zone, and the nighttime illumination演出, enjoyable from sunset to 10 PM, is also a major attraction. With shadow puppetry of yokai, bronze statues, and tree lighting, it is a tourist spot that can be enjoyed not only during the day but also at night. The Taishobashi Store, which is also a directly managed store of Chiyomusubi Sake Brewery, faces Mizuki Shigeru Road and offers a wide selection of Chiyomusubi sake and Kitaro goods.
