This fiscal year marks the commemorative completion of the main hall. This is a vital opportunity to broadly promote the new path of Shurijo Castle's restoration. We are looking for individuals to take on the important role of promoting the history and culture of the Ryukyu Kingdom, while energizing the castle's reconstruction and Okinawa tourism.

Duties of the King and Queen The selected individuals will represent the park at various events inside and outside Shurijo Castle Park, including the 2026 'Shurijo Reconstruction Festival' and 'New Year's Banquet'.

Eligibility 1. Must be a resident of Okinawa Prefecture. 2. Must be in good physical and mental health. 3. Must have an interest in Ryukyu history and culture. 4. Must be at least 18 years old as of April 1, 2026. 5. Must be able to participate in events (including rehearsals) held between August 2026 and 2027. - November 2026: Shurijo Reconstruction Festival [Ryukyu Dynasty Picture Scroll Procession, etc.] - January 2027: New Year's Banquet [Rituals, etc.] - Other 2026 events: Okinawa tourism promotions and related activities.

* Specific requirements due to costume constraints: - Queen: Height 160cm or taller, hair length at least to the chest. - King: Height 170cm or taller, robust build, and dignified appearance.

How to Apply Please complete the designated application form and submit it with L-sized full-body and upper-body photographs (women must include photos showing hair length) to the specified address. * Documents will not be returned. Personal information is used only for the selection process.

Application Period May 27, 2026 - June 26, 2026 (must arrive by the deadline).

Selection Process - First round: Document screening (early July). - Second round: Public selection event (July 12, 2026).

Prizes - King & Queen: 1 person each (Certificate, 50,000 yen, and gift). - Runners-up: 1 person each for King & Queen (30,000 yen and gift).
