Socks Featuring 'Tako-san Slide' and 'Public Bathhouse'!? Adachi Ward × Kutsushitaya Collaboration Socks Launch Limited Release from July 17 (Fri)

This collaboration was made possible by the idea of Ariasa Mukai, store manager of Kutsushitaya Lumine Kitasenju. Manager Mukai, who interacts with customers daily, shared her inspiration: 'I strongly feel the local pride of Adachi Ward residents. I thought that socks unique to Adachi Ward could become beloved by many people, so I boldly proposed this collaboration.' The embroidery is done in-store using an embroidery machine, with staff hand-finishing each pair one by one.

The two designs selected for the accent embroidery are deeply connected to Adachi Ward: the 'Tako-san Slide' and the 'Sentō (public bathhouse)'.

The 'Tako-san Slide' originated in Adachi Ward and is currently installed in 11 parks within the ward.

Meanwhile, Adachi Ward boasts one of Tokyo’s highest numbers of public bathhouses (23 as of April in Reiwa 8), ranging from traditional sentō to uniquely themed ones. These bathhouses are popular not only among local residents but also attract visitors from outside the ward.

The illustrations are original artwork drawn by a designer from Adachi Ward’s City Promotion Division, beautifully rendered as colorful and intricate accent embroidery on the socks.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these collaboration socks will be donated to Adachi Ward.
