The annual celebration of 'Kabuto Beer,' a name etched in Japanese beer history, will take place on June 27 (Sat) and 28 (Sun), 2026, at the Handa Red Brick Building.

This is a rare opportunity to experience the history of Kabuto Beer across three generations—from the Meiji to the Showa era—and to taste the 'Premium Taisho Kabuto Beer,' which is shipped directly from the brewery with zero storage time and is unfiltered, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

'I want to taste the legendary beer with history once more.'

Born in the Handa Red Brick Building during the Meiji era, 'Kabuto Beer' was once loved by many as one of Japan's top five beers, alongside Sapporo, Asahi, Yebisu, and Kirin.

Although production ceased during the war, voices from Kabuto Beer fans across the country and citizens with passionate intentions asking to 'taste the legendary beer with history once again' led to the beer's revival in 2005, through the efforts of the 'Akarenga Club Handa,' which works to preserve the Handa Red Brick Building.

This event was started with the desire to let more people know about the revived Kabuto Beer and the Handa Red Brick Building.

Kabuto Beer Festa 2026

This time, guests can enjoy four types of Kabuto Beer: those from the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, plus the unfiltered, zero-storage 'Premium Taisho Kabuto Beer.'

Furthermore, a BBQ beer garden using fresh ingredients from the Chita Peninsula will appear. The combination of local flavors grilled over a charcoal stove and Kabuto Beer creates a blissful moment.

In addition, there are plenty of contents for everyone from families to beer enthusiasts, including a history quiz rally about Kabuto Beer and guided tours of the permanent exhibition room.

A panel exhibition titled 'Kabuto Beer Revival Story,' showcasing the glory of Kabuto Beer, which won a gold medal at the Paris World Expo, will also be held concurrently.
