Dental and Oral Health Fair Held / Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture

Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, will hold a 'Dental and Oral Health Fair' on Sunday, June 7th, in conjunction with 'Dental and Oral Health Week,' co-hosted by the city and the City Dental Association. The theme for fiscal year 2026 is [Chew, Chew, Coming to Health] 'Protect your own teeth yourself, a treasure unique in the world.'

The fair will be held at the Aste Kawanishi Pii Puu Square, Aste Civic Plaza (Sakaemachi 25), and other locations, with the aim of promoting self-care for a healthy life with one's own teeth, encouraging regular dental checkups, early detection and treatment of oral diseases, and spreading awareness of the '8020 movement' (keeping 20 teeth until age 80).

At Aste Kawanishi Pii Puu Square, in addition to children's dental checkups, there will be simple games using the mouth, a 'Chew Chew' dietary education corner, a chewing force measurement experience using chewing gum (provided by Lotte Co., Ltd.), as well as a special stage featuring the 'Dental and Oral Health Week' poster contest, an award ceremony for 'Think as a family! Dental and Oral Health Slogans,' and a balloon show.

At Aste Civic Plaza, dental checkups and oral frailty checks will be conducted for junior high school students and above. Free dental checkups, consultations, and brushing instruction will also be available at two dental clinics in the city (Tsubame Dental Clinic and Kitagawa Dental Clinic).

A representative from the City Preventive Dental Center commented, 'Noticing a decline in oral function is deeply related to maintaining our overall health. We hope this event will spark interest in your own oral health and encourage participation in the Preventive Dental Center's programs or regular checkups at your family dentist, fostering interest in oral healthcare.'
