Kitahiroshima City in Hokkaido is celebrating its 30th anniversary of city establishment in September 2026 and is updating its country sign. The city collected design submissions from April 1 to May 31, 2026.

Online voting is being conducted for all designs that meet the submission requirements, and the top 20 designs will be selected.

Voting is open to anyone who supports Kitahiroshima City, so please vote.

How to vote?

On the Kitahiroshima City Country Sign Voting Page, select either "Like!" or "Skip" for each displayed design based on your intuition. ※Pressing the "Like!" or "Skip" button will take you to the next design. You do not need to respond to all designs. ※Those without a smartphone can also vote at the Public Relations Division of Kitahiroshima City Hall.

How is the design decided?

The design will be decided according to the following schedule.

① Online voting will be conducted for all designs under review, and the top 20 designs with the most votes will be selected. ※Intuitive review for each design to determine if it is liked （From June 11 (Thu) to June 24 (Wed)

② A lottery for the top 20 designs with the most votes will be held. The mayor of Kitahiroshima City will conduct a lottery for the 20 selected designs. Live streaming will also be conducted during the lottery. (From 16:00 on July 1 (Wed), at Elfin Park)

③ Online voting in a tournament format will be conducted to select the final 5 designs. ※Comparative review to decide the winner by comparing two designs （First Round: From July 5 (Sun) to July 21 (Tue) Second Round: From July 27 (Mon) to August 12 (Wed)

④ Online voting for elementary and junior high school students in Kitahiroshima City, voting via the official LINE account of Kitahiroshima City, and voting on paper will be conducted. （From September 1 (Tue) to September 14 (Mon)

⑤ The final design will be decided based on the results of the above voting.
