[Official Kitahiroshima City Channel] Videos that make you want to live in Kitahiroshima [Which side are you on?] Starting July 5! Country Sign Design Voting Begins [Kitahiroshima City, Hokkaido]
Kitahiroshima City, Hokkaido, is updating its country sign to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its city establishment in September 2026 (Reiwa 8). From April 1 to May 31, 2026, the city accepted design submissions and conducted an online vote for all eligible entries, selecting the top 20 designs.
From July 5 to July 21, 2026, the first round of online voting will be held in a tournament format. The second round will run from July 27 to August 12, narrowing the designs down to the final five.
Anyone, including supporters of Kitahiroshima City, can participate in the voting. We encourage your participation!

How to Vote
On the Kitahiroshima City Country Sign Voting Page, you will be shown two designs. Please select the one you prefer. Note: Clicking the "Choose This" button will take you to the next matchup.
Note: Those without mobile phones can vote in person at the Public Relations Office counter at Kitahiroshima City Hall.
How Will the Design Be Decided?
The final design will be selected according to the following schedule:
① Online voting was conducted for all eligible designs to select the top 20 based on vote count [Completed] - Intuitive evaluation based on personal preference for each design (June 11 (Thu) to June 24 (Wed))
② Tournament matchup lottery for the top 20 designs [Completed]
The mayor of Kitahiroshima City conducted the lottery for the 20 selected designs.
The lottery was live-streamed.
(From 4:00 PM on July 1 (Wed) at Elfine Park)
③ Tournament-style online voting to select the final five designs - Comparative evaluation: choose the winner between two designs (First Round: July 5 (Sun) to July 21 (Tue)) (Second Round: July 27 (Mon) to August 12 (Wed))
④ Additional voting for elementary and junior high school students within Kitahiroshima City, via the Kitahiroshima City LINE Official Account, and paper ballots (September 1 (Mon) to September 14 (Sun))
⑤ Final selection of one design based on the results of the above voting
